The reason for colored doors....

In Ireland you see all different colored doors. They say the reason for this is when all of Ireland was under British rule they made them paint all the doors black, so as soon as they broke away from them, everyone painted their doors different colors, simply because they could.  Or the other reason is you painted your door however you wanted, and when you came out of the pub at night you would know which door was yours.

Don't worry about just a house to play cards in

St. Patrick's

Christ Church

Trinity Bell Tower

WE ARRIVED AND BASHED DUBLIN

Arrived in Dublin today at 8:30a.m., Tuesday the 17th, straight from Atlanta on a very crowded but uneventful flight. Cabbed to the hotel, dropped bags, and hit the sightseeing on the hop on hop off bus.  Beautiful sunny day in mid 60s.

Saw Book of Kells at Trinity College, explored Christ Church and St. Patrick's then went to the Guinness brewery with the Gravity Bar.  The night finished with a carriage ride through the shopping and nightclub districts.

We have arranged for a driver tomorrow to take us to the area just south of Dublin.

For those of you considering a trip to Ireland I am posting details called Helpful Tips:

Helpful Tip:  Dublin Hotel - The Shelbourne, A Renaissance Hotel with the Marriott benefits and wonderful old charm completely redone.  Located across from St. Stephens Park and two blocks  from Grafton Street - shopping!!!!!

Research

OK this third person thing has to go so now it is I.
I have been researching where we might want to go.  The best is that Chapter XX member, Sandy brought me files from her family's years of living there.  Including the name and phone number of a good driver/guide.  Less than 48 to wheels up.

Join the Reynolds Girls

Follow the Reynolds girls as they explore the luck and land of the Irish.  You might be interested in seeing some of their inspiration - Movies:  Leap Year and P.S. I Love You. They will be attempting to experience much of the scenery in these two films.  Yes there are several other films with exquisite Ireland scenery but they are partial to the chic flicks.
